gadkari: Nitin Gadkari has shown how power can be used, says Sharad Pawar | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supremo Sharad Pawar on Saturday lauded Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari for using his power effectively.
The two leaders of the rival party were sharing the stage at a function in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.
“I am attending the event because I was told that Gadkari is going to inaugurate many projects in Ahmednagar that will solve the city’s long-pending problems and he wants me to attend,” Powar said.
The NCP leader said that we have often seen that once a stone laying ceremony is held for a project, nothing happens, but when it comes to Godakari’s project, someone sees the work start within a few days of the function.
“Godkari is a great example of how a people’s representative can work for the development of the country,” Power said.
The NCP chief said, “I remember that Gadkari had completed about 5,000 km of work (of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways) before taking charge.
Speaking on the occasion, Gadkari said that during the implementation of road projects in Buldhana district of Maharashtra, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has also silted up local rivers and streams.
“I am advising (Maharashtra Rural Development Minister) Hasan Musharraf to consider focusing on water conservation in Ahmednagar district,” he said.
