Found missing Arunachal boy: Chinese army to defence officials | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Chinese military on Sunday told Indian defense officials that they had found a missing teenager from Arunachal Pradesh.
“The Chinese army has contacted us that they have found a missing boy from Arunachal Pradesh,” said Tezpur PRO Defense Lieutenant Colonel Harshvardhan Pandey.
Appropriate procedures are now being followed for the return of 17-year-old Mirm Taran.
Arunachal Pradesh Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao tweeted on January 19 about the abduction of the teenager by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) from the Upper Siang district.

Shortly after Gao’s tweet, district officials said they had provided all the information sought by higher authorities and were waiting for the 17-year-old to return.
Upper Siang DC Shaswat Sourav said Miram Taran, a local resident of Jido village in the district, was abducted on January 18 from a forest in Siangla area, where he allegedly went hunting with his friend Johnny Ying, 27.
Sourav added that he had learned from Ying that it was almost dark when the Chinese troops surrounded them in the Seungla area near the village of Bishing.
Arunachal Pradesh shares a 1,129 km long border with China.
