Everyone is responsible for the care of students: Maharashtra Education Minister – Times of India

Educationists participating in an online discussion with state school education minister Barsha Gaikwa on Friday on reopening the school from October said it was a priority for students to take responsibility and ensure effective education.

Gaikwad said schools, teachers and every stakeholder must take every step to safely reopen institutions. “However, once they are reopened, it will be our responsibility to make sure the children are safe. Even if there are Covid-1 cases, they need to be handled well by the school authorities. Lessons from Hivar Bazar village (Ahmednagar district) need to be copied across the state to handle Covid-1 handling, ”he said.

“We had the support of the students and their parents,” Power said. Parents become sensitive and gradually their reluctance turns into confidence and all the students start coming to school.

The online discussion was organized by the Maharashtra State Council for Education Research and Training (SCERT). Samir Dalwai, a member of the Kovid-1 ped pediatric task force in Maharashtra, said the education department must give students a clear indication of the curriculum and ensure that they do not take the test immediately.

“Students should be given a minimum of two weeks to adjust after a long interval of homeschooling. They should not be pressured to take exams immediately after joining the school, ”he said. He should give them time to share their thoughts, mix, meet and greet their friends and adjust.

Educationist Hemangi Joshi said parents should not insist on vaccinating children at this time. If students become accustomed to the screen and it is suddenly withdrawn from them, these situations should be handled well by teachers.

She said teachers will also take time to become permanent after joining an offline school after about 1 month, and they should seek help if they need counseling.

Former Director of Education Basant Kalpande said, “In the early days, students should be given leisure time to talk to themselves, express themselves and take up physical education. Let’s talk about their Covid-1, and if there are any misconceptions, they should be cleared up by the teachers. In fact, getting rid of the screen completely will not be easy because it is now a part of the system. So, if these devices are used under the guidance of teachers and parents, they will be a good source of learning.
