According to a statement, Chief Minister and Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Birendra Kumar today jointly unveiled the One-Year New Education Policy (NEP-2020 Achievement Booklet) and some major initiatives of the new Education Policy-2020 such as Nipun Bharat NIOS’s Virtual School-NCERT’s Alternative Academic Calendar. -And FLN Tools and Resources in the ‘Priya’ Accessibility Handbook-DIKSHA developed by NCERT and the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

The minister stressed that the government is working to improve school infrastructure, such as ensuring that the internet reaches rural schools across the country. The Minister said that NEP is a guiding philosophy for realizing the hopes and aspirations of millions of youth and making India self-reliant.
He said that the formulation of NEP is a living example of cooperative federalism to achieve a common goal of making India a global hub of knowledge. When we look back at the progress of NEP, we become more confident about the future of our students.
Mr. Pradhan said that the book “Priya – The Accessibility Warrior” published today will make the students aware about accessibility for Divyangs. He added that special emphasis has been laid on making the booklet simple, interesting and interactive so that children can be made aware of their access from the formative years.
The Minister said at the launch of the Virtual School of NIOS that the school is a new model of education and an example of how technology and innovation can facilitate greater inclusion in education.
He said the school is the first of its kind in the country to provide an advanced digital learning platform through virtual live classrooms and virtual labs. Mr. Pradhan further said that an alternative academic calendar of NCERT has been created to facilitate teachers and parents in assessing the progress of children’s education. The Alternative Academic Calendar contains a week-long plan of interesting and challenging activities, including lessons learned from the curriculum or textbook, with references to themes and chapters.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Birendra Kumar said that accessibility opens the door to opportunities and growth, thus re-establishing the importance of creating an accessible environment for all. He added that awareness and a sensitive community are the fuel needed to drive any revolutionary change. The government’s commitment to improve accessibility has led to the development of an e-comic cum activity book, titled ‘Priya-Accessibility Warrior’.
Mr. Kumar called on both the Department of School Education and Literacy and the Department of Higher Education to take up the task of creating accessible educational infrastructure and content in a mission mode, which is continuing to move towards inclusive education which is an important component of the new national education policy. .
“On the th 35th anniversary of India’s independence, let us all become ‘Accessibility Warriors’ with our children and make inclusive education a reality to build a brighter future for all our citizens,” he said.
According to the statement, NEP 2020 considers education as a continuum without any continuity and makes education more experienced, holistic, integrated, character-building, research-driven, discovery-oriented, student-centered, discussion-oriented, flexible and, above all, more enjoyable.
With this vision, the Department of School Education and Literacy has taken many initiatives at all levels of school education and achieved 62 major milestones that will ultimately transform the school education sector.
