DU to conduct 3rd, 5th, 7th semester examinations of all UG, PG programs from November 30 – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The University of Delhi on Monday announced that the third, fifth and seventh semester examinations of all its undergraduate and postgraduate programs will be held in open book format from November 30.

Exams conducted in OBE format (online mode) will also be held for essential repeaters of I, III, and V semesters and alumni of all undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

“We are hereby informing all concerned that the required repeat of I / III / V semester for III / V / VII semester / term and the examination for all undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs for alumni will be conducted by the School of Open Learning (SOL).” ) And examinations for students registered with the Non-Collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB) will begin on November 30, 2021, ”the October 29 statement said. Exams will be held in two sessions a day, including Sundays, lasting three hours.

It added that the final date sheet is likely to be issued in the first week of November.

Students can write the exam in “their convenient place” or in their faculty / department / college in online mode, according to the option chosen by them in the exam form.

The university has issued guidelines for conducting internal assessment, practical, viva voice, project, oral (moot court), apprenticeship, internship and field work for the 2021-22 academic year which must be completed by 14 December.

For internal assessment, the varsity has instructed colleges to conduct only internal work instead of the three previously existing components which include class examination, tutorial examination and attendance.

“Internal assessment of students should also be done using IT tools. The teacher should give assignments to the students in the prescribed format via email / Google classroom etc.

For the practical test of the UG course, teachers will give assignments to students who will email or submit the assignments resolved online within a certain period of time, it said.

Viva Voice and Mut Court can be conducted, where applicable, via Skype or other online learning app, it said.

For internships and apprenticeships, the university says students should be allowed to take online internships / activities, including activities that can be done digitally or otherwise sitting at home.

“They may be hired as interns in ongoing projects. Start dates may be delayed. Duration of internships may be reduced to clubbing including assignments etc.”

Research evaluation of UG and PG programs will be conducted based on written assignments.

“In the present scenario, appropriate measures need to be taken for the convenience of UG / PG students following the project / dissertation. Or test or field / survey based assignment, ”the university said.
