Distance – Proximity to school – The highest eligibility points are assigned by most schools to the criteria. 0-3 km distance will achieve maximum points; In some cases, it can be 0-10 km. For example, MM Public School, Pitampura has allotted 65 points for 0-6 km radius, 55 points for 6-8 km radius and 45 points for those outside 8 km.

Some schools have allocated points for bus routes. Those who live in the area, including school transport, will be awarded 50 points at Tagore International School, under the criteria of the neighborhood. Another common criterion is points for siblings and one parent is an alumnus. In Delhi Public School, Basant Kunj, 25 points can be earned under the alumni criteria. The father of the child who has attended any school under DPS Society will be given 10 points and the mother will be given 10 more points. If any of them have studied in Basanta Kunj branch, there will be 5 more points.

However, not all schools give alumni points. In The Indian School, points are divided into neighbors (60), siblings (20) and firstborn (20).

Under sibling criteria, most schools require a child’s brother or sister to study in the same branch.

Many criteria vary from school to school. While MM Public Schools is giving points for girls (20) and first graders (10), some schools are keeping points for their staff kids. In some cases, points are allocated for single parents.

If the number of applications having the same point exceeds the number of seats, a computerized draw of lots will be held.

As in previous years, there is a higher-age standard – 4 years for nursery, 5 years for kg and 6 years for first class.

The last day to fill the form is January 8 and the first list will be announced on February 4.

For the 25% reserved department seats, the government has yet to make an announcement. The admission process is centralized for candidates from economically weaker sections / disadvantaged groups and children with special needs and lots are drawn by the Department of Education.
