Covid-19: India provides ventilators, ambulances to Nepal | India News – Times of India

New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, India has provided medical assistance including ventilators and ambulances.
Nepal will help in its fight against the disease.
Indian Ambassador to Nepal Vinay Mohan Kwatra on Friday handed over the aid to Nepal Army Chief General Purna Chandra Thapa as a sign of closer cooperation between the two countries.
“India and Nepal are fighting COVID-19 together. As a sign of solidarity and closer cooperation, medical equipment including ventilators and ambulances were handed over by Ambassador Kwatra to the Chief of the Nepalese Army, General Purna Chandra Thapa, today,” official Twitter Handle said the Indian Embassy in Nepal.
Nepal is witnessing a shortage of medical facilities, including a coronavirus vaccine, due to which the vaccination campaign that was started on Tuesday and ran till Saturday was halted.
The vaccination drive in Kathmandu has been put on hold as the allotted number of COVID-19 jabs ended two hours earlier than expected.
Medical assistance from various European countries continues to combat COVID-19 in the Himalayan nation. The caseload of Covid-19 in Nepal crossed 600,000, reaching 601,687 on Thursday, with 2,874 more people testing positive for the infection,
