Most schools have started revision exams and are teaching students how to navigate exams based on their performance.
Harini, a 12th grader, said her school explained the core concept of the NCERT textbook. “The school has given us shortcuts and strategies for solving questions in a short time,” he said. Dipta, a 12th class commerce student, said her school was providing students with a lot of materials to prepare for the exams. “Teachers are asking us to prepare for exams based on our NCERT textbooks and be clear about the concept,” he said. Objective questions were easy for theory subjects. He added that, for accounting and mathematics, time management was a problem.
Nithin, a tenth-grade student, said time management in the MCQ exam is a challenge. “Students who are full of ideas can get high marks. This MCQ pattern will help students prepare for competitive exams, ”he said.
R Shivasankari, a physics teacher at a school in the city, said students need to have a conceptual idea of the subjects for the MCQ exam and also be aware of the application of the concept. “In a descriptive test, even a wrong answer or a part of the answer with the correct step will get the number. But, in the MCQ test, it is either wrong or correct,” he said.
V Gaurilakshmi, principal of Chinmoy Vidyalaya in Anna Nagar, said, “It is a challenge for the students. They should know how to correct the wrong answers. We are concentrating on the practice paper. ”
SBOA Schools and Junior Colleges in Anna Nagar have prepared a house-to-house revision book with multiple choice questions based on the chapter from the NCERT textbook.
“We are giving assignments based on MCQ pattern questions after finishing each lesson. Our teachers are asking students to read the NEET and JEE question papers to get acquainted with the objective question papers, ”said Manohar.
“Students need to be thorough with the ideas. We have created NEET and JEE question paper reference points to prepare for multiple choice-based questions,” said N Bijayan, senior principal of the school at Joyan and Alwin Group.
