He says the first chapter of the #Young Warrior NXT initiative will be a four-week long program in 500 schools for pilots who have chosen pilots, IX and XI. The initiative was launched in collaboration with UNICEF, UWAH and Udyam Learning.
The initiative will not be meant for students but will be an optional, experiential learning-based module. “As the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 focuses on the holistic development of students, these life skills will be of paramount importance in the future,” he said.
Anshumali Srivastava, PGT Commerce, KV2, Agra and a master trainer at the initiative said, “Over the past two years, online education has completely limited the interaction between teachers and students to academics. This has led to a socio-psychological education gap among the students, which is aimed at filling this gap. ”
On January 8, 2022, a pre-test is scheduled for all participants that will test their condition with life skills that the initiative aims to develop, Srivastava says. “Each week will be dedicated to one of four specific core skills, which will be taught to students and tested over the weekend with empirical activities. At the end of four weeks, a final test will be taken to test the progress of the students with each core skill, ”he added.
The master instructor is preparing to be a problem solver for both the teacher and the student during this program, says Srivastava. “By working as teachers’ helpers, they need to keep pace with the problems their students face in order to achieve the goal,” he added.
Binuman VR, Principal, Adarsh Vidya Kendra, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, has chosen to be a part of the pilot initiative. “It is essential to fill the learning gap created in the last two years. While distressed students will face a difficult time with underdeveloped life skills, even teachers need to be able to handle their classes in a way that allows students to understand and overcome problems, ”he said.
He added, “Currently, I am in regular discussions with teachers, parents and students to bring their initiatives to the board. Instead of providing students with complex education, the focus should be on filling the gaps in epidemic-induced education related to the skills required, visible to all educators, “he said.
