CBSE instructs schools to upload LOC to avoid mistakes – Times of India

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has directed schools to upload the list of eligible candidates (LOCs) for the board examinations of that academic session on the e-examination portal. The direction is aimed at avoiding any misinformation or misinformation. Although Tier-1 and Tier-2 city schools do not usually have problems completing this, third-tier and rural schools face repeated problems, which delay the task at hand. Sanam Bharadwaj, Controller of Examinations, CBSE, said the schools had delayed updating and uploading the list. “A few schools have made convenient excuses for technology to delay the practice of uploading LOCs on the e-test portal. Other factors that we often encounter are lack of time and disruption of internet connection, “he said.

Elite schools easily understand the CBSE guidelines related to uploading LOCs, but few schools are ineligible in this regard. “Over the last few years, CBSE has started issuing detailed guidelines so that all schools are able to fulfill this responsibility and not be harmed due to lack of understanding. We have noticed that it has improved the practice, ”Vardwaj said.

Vardwaj said schools need to ensure that all eligible candidates in the LOC have accurate details. “An incorrect entry on the part of the school will result in inconsistencies in the information throughout the student’s life,” he said. For example, if all the documents spell the student’s name the same way but the school marksheet demands another spelling, it will be a matter of perpetual debate, ”he added.

Although the process of submitting LOC for Class X and XII Board candidates has started from September 17, 2021, the last date for submission without any delay fee is September 30, 2021 and the last date for payment of fees is October 1, 2021.

As per the notification issued by CBSE, all 25600 CBSE approved schools are advised to submit LOC on time. Since the CBSE Term I Board Examination 2022 is scheduled to be held in November-December 2021, schools have been asked to expedite the process of uploading LOCs online.

Schools are requested to set a deadline and make efforts to submit accurate information to their eligible students. The CBSE notification further said that there will be no window for revising the data of students submitted by the schools.

Schools will have to pay a fee of Rs 1,500 for every Indian student for five subjects. Foreign school fees are Rs 10,000. If the LOC is submitted by October 9, 2021, a delay fee of Rs 2,000 will be charged, which can be paid till October 10, 2021.
