Major changes in ICSE 2021 sample papers

This is breaking news! The ICSE board has again uploaded some sample papers of some subjects with some big changes in the pattern of the paper, after realizing the subjects directed by some teachers recently. Sample papers re-uploaded a few days ago (replaced by the previous PDF) in the Publications section Sample papers for ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 were originally uploaded / announced on 26 August 2021.

English Paper 1 (English Language) and HCG Paper 1 (History and Civics) Specimen Paper are two subjects where the paper changes of this Semester 1 are mainly done. But surprisingly, There is no official notification The website has been issued by the ICSE Board. Because of this, most students and teachers are unaware of these changes, and students can practice from old paper patterns for these topics.

So, we want to explain these changes for the benefit of everyone.


English language – change
(To be held on November 15, 2021)

1. MCQ type has changed!


You have successfully cast your vote

In Original Semester 1 Sample Paper English Language (Paper 1), MCQ had 0.5 marks, 1 mark, 2 marks and 5 marks.


However, in Updated sample paper Uploaded later, the weight of the MCQs was completely changed to 1 mark each. All 0.5 marks, 2 and 5 marks MCQ has now been removed !!

It completely changed the pattern of paper for English language and also provided a revision by ICSE experts Sample paper books In collaboration with Edukart, these 1 Mark MCQs paper patterns have been updated (specifically available for the correct final practice of the Semester 1 board).

2. The total number of questions and internal options have changed


According to Original sample paper, Students had to answer MCT MCQ (weight of different marks) with MC option. In Updated sample paper In English, there are now MC0 MCQs (1 mark) for total answers with MC0 options.

Again, for proper final practice, Sample papers These last 4 weeks after these changes have been announced should now be seriously considered.

History and Citizens – Change
(To be held on November 18, 2021)


1. MCQ type has changed!

The Original Semester 1 Sample Paper History and civics include 1 mark and 2 mark MCQ. The Updated sample paper Each carries 1 mark MCQ (all compulsory). See the screenshots below to understand better.

2. The total number of questions and internal options have changed


In Original version According to the history and civics sample paper, there were 32 MCQs to answer within an hour Updated sample paper, Will now have a total of 40 MCQs.
