bjp: JP Nadda kickstarts BJP’s campaigning in Manipur | India News – Times of India

BISHNUPUR: Playing the election bugle in Manipur on Saturday, BJP president JP Nadda said the party would return to power in the state based on the development work done since 2017.
Addressing a public meeting at Sai Ground in Bishnupur, Manipur, Nadda called the state “the gateway to self-reliant India”.
Attacking the previous Congress government in the state, the BJP leader said, “Before the formation of the government, corruption, commissions and criminality were the norm in Manipur. Abduction cases were solved outside the police station. No development took place.”
He further lauded the current BJP-led government in the state and said that Chief Minister N Biren Singh has brought “only development” in the last four years.
“Manipur is now in the mainstream of development as the people elected the BJP-led government at the right time in 2017. Manipur is leading the self-reliant India campaign in the north-eastern state,” Nadda said.
“Now is the time for innovation, infrastructure expansion, connectivity and integration under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.
Nadda further said that peace is a by-product of the right kind of government that is elected.
“The Prime Minister and the Chief Minister have tried to bring everyone together, either through agreement or contract. These leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah, have played an active role in uniting everyone in the society which has brought stability to the state,” the BJP leader said.
He further mentioned various schemes of the central government and said that they have empowered the common people of the state.
Nadda reached Manipur on Saturday on a two-day visit. Assembly elections in Manipur early next year.
