BCCI unveils Team India’s new jersey ahead of T20 World Cup | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Inspired by fans, the Indian cricket team’s jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup was unveiled on Wednesday, just days before the country’s much-anticipated clash with arch-rivals Pakistan began in Dubai.
The tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman from October 17 to November 14.
The new shirt, titled ‘Billion Cheers Jersey’, was inspired by the fans and was unveiled by MPL Sports, the official kit sponsor of the Indian men’s, women’s and under-1 teams.

A statement from MPL Sports said, “This is the first time in the history of Indian cricket that fans have been reminded of this jersey. It carries their slogans and cheers from past matches, transformed into a unique soundwave pattern.”
The jersey comes in Prussian blue and royal blue.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said, “The Indian cricket team has gained support not only in India, but all over the world and there is no better way to celebrate their excitement and strength through this jersey.
“It will undoubtedly provide much-needed enthusiastic support to the team in its quest to emerge as the World Twenty20 champions. We are also pleased to see that MPL Sports continues to deliver a wide range of affordable and readily available products.”

Board Secretary J Shah expressed this view.
“The story behind the jersey is the story of every Indian cricket fan. We are sure that it will be a matter of pride for both the team and the fans wearing it.”
The jersey will be available in stores at Rs 1,799. With this, more than 10 variations have been introduced including the player version jersey and the signature number 18 jersey of captain Virat Kohli.
