Dubai (UAE): Pakistan captain and batsman Babar Azam on Thursday broke the record for most runs by any player in their first T20 World Cup.
Babar Azam achieved this feat while playing in the second semi-final of the ongoing ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup between Australia and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
The Pakistan captain is at the top with 269 runs, followed by Matthew Hayden of Australia and Joe Root of England with 265 and 249 runs respectively.
Australia captain Aaron Finch won the toss and elected to bowl. While Australia are second in Group 1 with four wins out of five, Pakistan are top of Group 2 of the Super 12 with five wins.
