Aryan Khan, Now ‘Undertrial N956’, Moved To Mumbai Jail’s Barracks

Aryan Khan was arrested by the NCB in a drug-on-cruise case earlier this month.

Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been designated under trial number N956 after being shifted to the Arthur Road Jail barracks in Mumbai where he has been held since his arrest in a drug-on-cruise case earlier this month.

Aryan Khan was transferred to a common room after a negative test for Covid-1 for, the superintendent said the day before. Besides Aryan Khan, five others arrested in the case have been removed from the quarantine barracks of the jail.

Arthur Road Prison Superintendent Nitin Vechal said, “Aryan Khan and five others have been transferred from the prison’s quarantine barracks to the general room after their cowardly report came back negative.”

Aryan Khan, 23, was sent to Arthur Road Jail after being placed in judicial custody. A Mumbai court today upheld an order on his bail application – the third since his arrest about two weeks ago.

The Narcotics Control Bureau or NCB alleges that Aryan Khan – accused No. 1 – took the named drug and “contacted some people abroad who appear to be part of an international drug network for illegal purchase of drugs”.

“WhatsApp chats reveal that the accused contacted a foreign national for large quantities of hard drugs,” the anti-drug agency said, adding that the investigation has so far revealed his role in the conspiracy.

The NCB said all of the detainees were “inextricably linked to each other” and “it is not possible to implicate one defendant in the role of another.” “The elements of the conspiracy are clear and unambiguous,” the agency said, adding that “one of the applicants cannot be considered in isolation”.

Aryan Khan’s defense team has denied the allegations, saying he was “not even on a cruise” during the raid by anti-drug officials, had no cash to buy drugs and had no drugs on him.

Amit Desai, representing Shah Rukh Khan’s son, said the NCB’s campaign started when he did not even check on the cruise and he did not use drugs or find anything.

“The allegation of illegal trafficking is inherently absurd. This boy, who has nothing, was not even on the ship. It is an absurd and false allegation,” he said.

Aryan Khan was arrested within hours. Anti-drug officials raided a cruise ship party in Mumbai on October 2 in disguise.

Aryan’s parents Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan have not yet commented on his arrest and charges. Many in the film industry like Salman Khan, Farah Khan and Hrithik Roshan have come forward to support Khan.
