Aryan Khan Case Witness Turned Hostile: Anti-Drugs Agency Amid Payoff Row

Aryan Khan Drugs Case: Prabhakar Cell is one of the nine witnesses nominated by the NCB

Prabhakar Cell, a witness in the Aryan drug case, has become ‘hostile’, the Narcotics Bureau said in a special court in Mumbai this morning, a day after he made a sensational demand to pay around Rs 8 crore to Mr Mr Sail agency officer Sameer Wankhede.

Here are the top 10 points of this big story:

  1. NCB NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) has filed two affidavits in the court. The first says that Prabhakar Sail submitted his affidavit before submitting it to the court which shows that he has become hostile. The second has been filed in his personal capacity on behalf of Mr. Wankhede.

  2. Mr Wangkhede – who is leading the investigation – has targeted Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik; The feud erupted again this morning after Mr Malik Malik tweeted a document regarding his rival’s birth and alleged “fraud”. Mr Wang responded to the “dirty” remarks and said he would take legal action.

  3. Prabhakar Sail was spotted at the Mumbai Police Commissioner’s office shortly before the NCB filed two affidavits. Mr Wankhede also wrote a letter to the Mumbai police, seeking protection from legal action for fear of being “persuaded” with “malicious intent”.

  4. In Sunday’s affidavit, Mr Mr Sell – who claims to be KP Gosavi’s bodyguard, alleged PI whose selfie with Aryan Khan went viral – announced that he had heard conversations on October 3 between his employer and Sam D’Souza about a Rs 18 crore deal.

  5. The 15-minute meeting allegedly took place inside a car. Aryan Khan’s father, star actor Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani was also present, according to Mr Sail, who is one of the nine witnesses nominated by the NCB in the Mumbai drug-on-cruise case.

  6. According to Mr Cell, Gosavi – whom the NCB calls an “independent witness” and missing – said he would have to pay crores of rupees to Samir Wankhede. Mr Sell further claimed that he had personally delivered a bag of cash worth Rs 1 lakh to D’Souza.

  7. According to NCB sources, Prabhakar Sail has been accused of “tarnishing the image of (the agency)”. Nonetheless, the agency is ready to investigate them anyway; Deputy Director General Gyaneshwar Singh (NCB’s Chief Vigilance Officer) will lead the investigation. Sources said Mr Singh is expected to hold talks with Mr Wankhede on the issue tomorrow.

  8. Aryan Khan has been in jail since October 8 and the lower court has denied him bail. He has now appealed to the Bombay High Court, which will hear his appeal tomorrow.

  9. No medicine was found on him; The case is based entirely on information from his WhatsApp chat that the NCB claims he had contacts with an international drug cartel.

  10. Aryan Khan’s lawyers have dismissed all the allegations, citing the fact that no drugs were found on him, and that there was no evidence of abuse (given under duress).
