Aryan Khan has been sent to judicial custody.

Aryan Khan, son of megastar Shah Rukh Khan, arrested in a case involving a rave party on a cruise ship, will no longer be in the custody of the Drug Control Agency but will be kept in jail. “I don’t think there is any need for interrogation in custody as enough time has been given,” the judge said. Within minutes, Aryan Khan’s lawyer applied for bail, which will be heard tomorrow.

The 23-year-old and other defendants, however, will spend the night at the Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration, as the prison transfer period is over and the mandatory covid test has not been performed.

Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan were not present in the court.

Aryan Khan was arrested on Saturday after a cruise ship bound for Goa from Mumbai. A total of 16 people have been arrested so far – including those who helped organize the event.

Although no drugs were found on him, the Bureau of Narcotics Control – while applying for increased custody – suggested his involvement in an international drug cartel in his WhatsApp chat and needed an in-depth investigation.

The 23-year-old also had to face some of the arrested men, the agency argued in court, citing Archit Kumar, whom they said was arrested on the basis of Aryan Khan’s statements.

“It took so long for the investigation team to arrest the accused that we cannot discuss with whom they need to face,” the court said.

The court said, “Police custody of an accused without any reason would be tantamount to a violation of fundamental rights.

Aryan Khan’s lawyer Satish Manshind had filed a case that no drugs were found on him and he could not be held responsible for confiscating it from others. But Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh argued that the case should be “fully looked into”.

Aryan Khan further argued that there was nothing objectionable in his WhatsApp chat. He said his chat with one of the accused was about football.
