Arunachal boy abducted by China: MP | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: China’s People’s Liberation Army has abducted a 17-year-old boy from Indian territory in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district, state MP Tapir Gao said on Wednesday.
Gao said the boy, identified as Miram Taran, was abducted on Tuesday from Lunta Jor area. Tarn’s friend Johnny Yaying, who managed to escape, informed authorities about the abduction, Gao told PTI. Both are local hunters in the village of Jido.
The incident took place near where the Sampo River enters India. The river is called Siang in Arunachal Pradesh and Brahmaputra in Assam.
Earlier, Gao tweeted: “Chinese #PLA kidnaps 17-year-old Miram Taran from Jidoville. Made 3-4 km of roads inside).

Gao further said that he has informed Junior Home Nisith Pramanik about the incident and requested him to take necessary action in this regard. In his tweet, he tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the army.
In September 2020, the PLA abducted five youths from the Upper Subansiri district and released them about a week later.
The latest incident comes amid a border stalemate in eastern Ladakh.
