To facilitate the unexplained education of children living in the area, the Army has started ‘Pinewood School’ where community classes are being organized for the students’ curriculum. According to Aliaz Khan, a teacher at Pinewood School, while students in most parts of India have adapted to online classes, internet connection is a problem in Hamirpur.
“Students living in the border area are in trouble because their classes have been suspended for months due to border shelling and now due to Kovid. Due to the country’s border with Pakistan, there is no internet connection in the region. Lags far behind the students, ”Khan said.
“Now, these community classes organized by the Army are helping students complete their curriculum on time and be equal to students across the country. The Army is also making sure that all Covid protocols are being followed,” the teacher added.
Tahra, a student at Pinewood School, told ANI that the military not only helps them facilitate their continuing education but also ensures they are safe.
“We live in a border area where there are network connection problems. Shooting is also a common occurrence here. The army has started community classes for us with proper social distance. They also help us on our journey. These classes are doing us a lot of good to ensure our safety,” Tahra said. .
According to another student, Rubia, the classes helped her cover her pending syllabus and prepare for competitive exams.
“The network here is very weak, which is why we can’t take online classes. We are always in trouble during competitive exams because our syllabus is not completed on time and we don’t have enough time to prepare. Now, classes with the community We have included and we have time to prepare further, ”he added.
