JAMMU: An Army jawan in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir allegedly shot himself with his service rifle while a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan died in a suspected cardiac arrest at Jammu Taui railway station on Sunday.
Naik DS Negi, a resident of Dehradun, shot himself and was found dead near his barracks in Palma area of ​​Rajouri. The jawan was on duty and his colleagues rushed to the spot after hearing the gunshots.
Police said he was shot in the chin, adding that “he was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead.” Preliminary reports said the body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy to determine details, although it appeared to be a suicide.
Meanwhile, a CRPF jawan died in a suspected cardiac arrest while boarding a train from Jammu Taui railway station to New Delhi. “Head Constable Ram Kumar Kaushik, identified as a resident of Samaypur in Delhi, has recently been shifted to the national capital. Preliminary investigations have revealed that he died of cardiac arrest but the exact cause of death will be known after postmortem.”
