Parts of the country’s expressways have been identified for emergency landings for the air force, and the report says the concept originated in Germany during World War II.
In September, Union Minister Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari inaugurated an emergency landing strip on the Satta-Gandhab stretch of National Highway 925 in Barmer, Rajasthan.
“(Eastern) Expressway is 6-lane wide which may be extended to 8-lane in future. Built at an estimated cost of about Rs 22,500 crore, Purbachal Expressway is going to encourage economic development of Eastern region. Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Gazipur districts, ”a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.
Today, Samajwadi Party’s Akhilesh Yadav has hit out at the BJP government, claiming that the cornerstone of the project was laid in December 2016 when he was chief minister.
The Samajwadi Party says the BJP is inaugurating a project similar to their idea. “They are inaugurating an expressway built by the SP government. They have changed the name of the expressway from the Socialist Eastern Expressway to just ‘Eastern Expressway’ and the quality of the expressway has been compromised,” Mr Yadav told a news conference. Today in Lucknow
“Those who have traveled on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway know that your tea will not spill at 100 kmph. But those who have traveled on the Eastern Expressway know that it will hurt your stomach. The BJP’s policy is – ‘Ram Ram Japna’. To date, all The projects are being inaugurated which were built by the SP government, “he added.
Sources in the UP government have denied the allegations, saying the foundation stone of the project was laid by Prime Minister Modi in July 2018 in Azamgarh in eastern Uttar Pradesh and it was constructed during the tenure of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and at a good time. Road blockade due to epidemic.
Yogi Adityanath said, “The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of this expressway in July 2018 and we are in a position today for the Prime Minister to inaugurate it. This is a prime example of how a ‘double engine’ government works,” said Yogi Adityanath. A joke about rivals digging a “double engine government”.
