Ajax Amsterdam name Schreuder as new coach to replace Ten Hag | Football News – Times of India

Amsterdam: Ajax Amsterdam on Thursday named Alfred Schroeder as their new coach to replace Manchester United captain Eric Ten Hague.
Ajax have signed a two-year deal with 49-year-old Schroeder, who is on the verge of taking club Brugge to the Belgian title.
Schroeder was Tan Hague’s assistant at Ajax for 18 months and Ronald Koeman’s assistant at Barcelona last season.
He has been the head coach of the Twenty20 and Bundesliga clubs Hoffenheim and Brugge since January.
They have come from behind to lead Belgium in the final round of the season and will win the title if they win on Sunday.
“It is an honor and a great opportunity for me to be the head coach of Ajax, which I hold in both hands. I want to win an award in Amsterdam with a team that plays interesting football. A good balance between experienced top players and a lot of great talent.” Ajax said in a statement on its website.
“But first I want to end the season successfully with Club Brugge. I will do what I can to make that happen.”
