Of the 1,29,325 workers, 1,12,325 teaching and 17,113 non-teachers received at least one dose of the 1,27,016 vaccine, but only 2,309 have not yet been seized. 922,70 have been fully vaccinated (.72..7%) and the second dose, remaining for 226 workers. After the slow start, special camps were organized with the Punjab Education Department and Health Department to vaccinate staff members across the state. Of the 9,773 workers, 9,656 received a dose of the vaccine and 7,002 were given the double dose, according to the state health department. In Ludhiana, out of 11,282, 11,124 were partially vaccinated and 7,419 were fully vaccinated. In Barnala, only 28 workers did not receive their first dose. The number of such teaching and non-teaching staff is 51 in Mukstar, 1 in Nowshera, 622 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 69 in Kapurthala, 73 in Fazilka and 3 in Jalandhar, 88 in Mansa, and0 in Mohali and at Pathankot.
According to health experts, a single dose of the vaccine provides some level of protection from the virus. If the results of studies published in various journals are considered, the dose of one vaccine reduces the risk of death from the disease by 80%, after two doses by about 95%. Health experts see mass immunization as the only hope, and adherence to covid as well as appropriate behavior to control the epidemic.
Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channy on September 2 asked the school education department to encourage students to go to class by following the required health protocols. The schools are following strict surveillance protocols and testing strategies issued by the state health department, according to which schools with a weekly positive rate of more than 10% will not be allowed to receive education in private. Students and staff are being randomly tested.
