Mishra has been admitted to the university’s prestigious Center for Talented Youth (CTY), whose alumni include Mark Zuckerberg, Lady Gaga, Google founder, Rhodes Scholar and MacArthur Fellow. He also finished second in the US National Science Bee 2021.
An enthusiast of science and an indifferent reader, Advay is now focused on the International Geography Bee World Championships and the International History Bee, which will be held in Quebec in August next year, for which he has qualified.

The US National Science Bee is a buzzer-based science competition for individual students, featuring questions from biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, astronomy, mathematics, and other scientific fields. It includes a written aptitude test, and buzzer-based regional and national championships.
He studied from first to fourth grade at Beckman Hill International School (Public School 59) in New York and will now continue his education at a school in Delhi. Mishra was awarded the Grand Honors Award, “the highest category for exceptional performance in SAT, ACT, or similar assessment” by 15,000 students from II to VIII as part of CTY’s talent search program. Test scores were based on top grade-level testing and were mixed at the “Advanced CTY level”, which is close to the four grade levels above the current grade.
“Biochemistry is my favorite subject because it’s exciting to see the reaction of compounds. Mystery and realistic fiction are also my favorites. Currently, I’m reading six simple parts by Richard Feynman, the requirements of physics explained by his brightest teacher, and a fiction, Acceleration Trilogy Book 3: Hawking Hallway by Neil Schusterman and Eric Elfman, ”Mishra said.
The eight-year-old was shown for coding a “moodmeter” on social media at the New York City Department of Education, an interactive socio-psychological learning tool. His work was also featured in the department’s blogpost, listing the top six examples of school work for the 2020-21 academic year.
His interests include Python, physics, biochemistry, geography, flags, mathematics and coding in economics. Nowadays he is working in particle physics and using programming to simplify the economy, while he is waiting for admission to a regular school in India.
