150 UP schools will include ‘implementation’ curriculum – Times of India

LUCKNOW: A ‘Realization Curriculum’ will be launched in more than 150 schools in 15 districts of Uttar Pradesh from next academic year 2022-2023, as a pilot project.

The ‘Realization Curriculum’ is similar to the happiness curriculum started by the Delhi government from July 2018.


In Uttar Pradesh, the ‘Realization Curriculum’ will be implemented primarily in primary (classes 1 to 5) schools.

The government has appointed Sourav Malviya, a media expert, as the nodal officer for the project. He has been tasked with bringing the board of teachers to a brain observation session later this week, organizing a physical workshop and selecting a core team of 30 best brains who will finalize the draft implementation curriculum.

The content will be finalized by the State Council for Education Research and Training (SCERT) before the textbook is printed. From next academic year, curriculum will be introduced in Varanasi, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Siddharth Nagar, Prayagraj, Amethi, Ayodhya, Lucknow, Muradabad, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Agra, Mathura, Jhansi and Chitrakuta.


The state government has also recruited Shravan Kumar Shukla, a government school teacher from Uttar Pradesh in Gorakhpur, who was a key member of the happiness curriculum in Delhi.

He will make a presentation to teachers during a brainstorming session scheduled for this weekend.

“Like any other subject, students will have time for perception every day. Like many subjects like English, Maths or History, students also need to live a happy and peaceful life. This perception curriculum is just a step towards establishing a developed, positive and vibrant society,” he said. Said.


In February 2020, the then US First Lady Melania Trump went to a happiness class in Delhi and spent time with children. Shukla’s happiness curriculum earned her international acclaim.

Shukla, who has been on deputation in Delhi since 2016 to develop the idea, returned to his homeland this January.

“The purpose of introducing the curriculum at UP was to help students on their journey to sustainable happiness by participating in meaningful and reflective stories and activities,” Shukla said.


“Happiness is the key to all relationships. I have believed since childhood that all people have the same values. Sadly, instead of nurturing those human values, today’s education system has left happiness behind,” he said.
