The Union Public Service Commission on Friday announced the results of the annual examination for the selection of IAS, IFS and IPS officers among other civil servants.

Kumar, a Bachelor of Technology (Civil Engineering) from IIT Bombay, has passed the exams including Anthropology as his elective subject. A statement issued by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) said Awasthi topped the list of female candidates.
Abasti passed the exam with sociology as his allied subject.
He has completed B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) in Bhopal.
Ankita Jain has secured third place in the prestigious examination.
A total of 11 candidates – 5455 males and 216 females – have passed the examination and the commission has made recommendations for various civil services.
The Civil Service Examination is conducted by UPSC for selection between Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others – Preliminary, Main and Interview.
The Civil Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2020 was held in October-October last year.
The statement said 10,40,060 candidates applied for the exam, out of which 4,82,770 candidates were present.
A total of 10,564 candidates qualified for the written (main) examination held in January 2021.
Of these, 2,053 candidates have qualified for the personality test (interview).
Of the 761 recommended candidates, 25 have standard disabilities – seven are orthopedically handicapped, four are visually impaired, 10 are hearing impaired and four are multiple handicapped.
Among the successful candidates are 263 from the general class, 86 from the economically weaker section (EWS), 220 from the Other Backward Classes (OBC), 122 from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and 61 from the Scheduled Tribes.
The UPSC said the top 25 candidates include 13 men and 12 women.
The educational qualifications of the top 25 successful candidates range from Bachelors in Engineering, Humanities, Commerce and Medical Sciences from major institutes like IIT, NIT, BITS, NSUT, DTU, JIPMER, University of Mumbai and Delhi University. .
Top 25 successful candidates have chosen subjects like Anthropology, Civil Engineering, Commerce and Accounting, Economics, Geography, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Public Administration and Sociology in the written (main) examination.
A total of 150 candidates have been placed in the reserved list.
The test was conducted to fill 836 posts in various civil services.
Candidates can get any information / explanation regarding their examination / appointment in person from 10:00 hours to 17:00 hours or through telephone no. 23385271/23381125/23098543.
The results will also be available on the UPSC website i.e. http // www.upsc.gov.in.
“Marks will be available on the website within 15 days from the date of announcement of results,” the commission said.
